If you carry full coverage on your auto policy then insurance will help you repair a broken or cracked windshield. Comprehensive coverage will take care of any damage caused by falling debris or hitting an animal. Collision coverage will take care of any glass damage that occurs during a car accident. It is worth filing a claim to repair your broken windshield if the cost of repair is greater than your deductible. For example, if the cost to repair your glass is $400 and you have $250 deductibles it would be a good idea to file a claim. In this case, you would only be responsible for paying $250 towards the damage as opposed to the full $400. Talk to an agent today to determine if your policy will cover broken glass claims.
